The congress city of Basel has a great deal to offer. This is an opinion shared by the organisers of the European Conference on Optical Communications (ECOC) and the European Congress of Pathology (ECP) – two events that we hosted last year. Working with a film crew, the marketing team at Messe Basel has captured impressions from the customer’s perspective in two exciting films.
At the 48th edition of ECOC, some 5,000 participants were welcomed to Exhibition Square, while for ECP the figure was 4,000. Both events thus fall in the most attractive category for Messe and Congress Center Basel. “No other venue in our city can accommodate events of this order of magnitude as readily as our premises”, says Jonas Scharf.
The films also focus on the accessibility. “We always state in our sales pitches that our venue is situated in the city centre and at the heart of Europe”, says Silvia Decker, Head of Marketing & Communications, with a grin. “But it’s something else again when our customers talk about the extensive public transport network and the fact that everything is close to hand in the city.”
