Tradition meets innovation: 70 years of Endress+Hauser.

To mark the company’s 70th anniversary, Endress+Hauser staged a number of exclusive events under the motto “Insights for sustainable decisions” in Hall 1 of the Messe and Congress Center from 26 to 30 June 2023. Apart from a company exhibition for customers and partners in Hall 1, the celebrations included an executives’ conference, an employee party and numerous other events for the different stakeholders of this family company.

The week got off to a start with the Global Forum. This was attended by more than 1,400 participants who had travelled to Basel from all over the world. Endress+Hauser configured the Forum to boost the sense of togetherness – both among its own employees and with its customers. This proved to be highly successful, since the programme met with great interest. The Inspiring Sessions with eminent speakers were just as well attended as the Insight and Exchange Sessions, where attendees were able to discuss products and processes. The organiser also used the exhibition halls to stage a company exhibition and invited partners from the full length of the value chain to follow suit. Next came various internal occasions as well as events for both the young generation and the trade press. The anniversary itself was finally celebrated with a gigantic party, and the 5,500 employees who had spent time together brought the week to a close with their impressive performances.

Throughout the week, the theme of sustainability ran as a common thread through the events that were staged thanks to the company’s cooperation with the Trash Galore waste disposal specialists and the catering provided by Wassermann & Company AG with the focus on seasonal and regional products. The organiser additionally dispensed with give-aways and planted a tree for each participant instead. When asked about the benefits of this format, Christian Geiger, Head of Live Communication says: “Holding a company event has many advantages despite the significant investment required. Most importantly, visitors can concentrate fully on us as hosts – we are not in a competitive situation like at public trade fairs. At the Global Forum, for example, we were able to let our customers take a look at our development projects too. We also received feedback from many of our guests saying that they found the atmosphere highly relaxed overall, without the usual hustle and bustle. And, in general terms, as the organiser of a company event we naturally have complete control of absolutely everything – guests, co-exhibitors, the programme, the F&B offerings… This makes it much easier to convey consistent, brand-congruent messages than at public events. I can thus recommend this approach to any company considering new event formats.” This impression is also shared by Christian Ortlepp, Head of Business Development Guest Events at MCH Exhibitions & Events: “From our point of view, the Endress+Hauser week has shown that nothing surpasses physical events when it comes to image building among partners and also employees. We are delighted that we at MCH Exhibitions & Events have been able to make a contribution here.”
