Basilia Jewellery & Watch Fair
A new international platform for the jewellery and watch industry
In April 2027, Basel will welcome the inaugural edition of the Basilia Jewellery & Watch Fair, a new international industry platform created through the collaboration of two global players in the exhibition business: Informa Markets, one of the world’s largest organisers of B2B trade shows and industry events, and MCH Group, the company behind internationally renowned platforms such as Art Basel.
Basilia is designed as an intercontinental meeting point for the jewellery and watch industry. Its aim is to bring together industry professionals from Asia, Europe and other international markets, creating a platform for exchange, business development and new partnerships.
“Basilia reflects our ambition to create an international platform that meets the evolving needs of today’s jewellery and watch industry. Together with Informa Markets, we are combining two powerful networks and creating a place in Basel where key industry players can connect, explore new markets and help shape the future of their sector. The fact that this new meeting point is being established in Basel underlines the city’s international importance as a destination for high-quality business platforms.” Roman Imgrüth, CEO Exhibitions & Events, MCH Group
“Basilia is the original Roman name for Basel. The first name this place ever had. Basel built its life as a crossroads for European trade. A bridge between cultures, people and commerce. For centuries, this was where Europe came to trade. Now, with Basilia, we're extending that bridge. This time to Asia, and to the world.Basilia doesn't think like a traditional trade fair. It thinks like a city. A city built on one idea above all others. Access through Discovery.A city of neighbourhoods, districts, valleys and squares, each one reflecting the energy and cultural character of the world's great centres of jewellery, gem and watch creation. Nothing is translated. Nothing is flattened. The origin is the point. Like any great city, it reveals itself slowly, inviting visitors to discover new perspectives, brands and partnerships around every corner.” Artur Faria, Creative Director, MCH Exhibitions & Events, MCH Group
The event will take place in Hall 2 at Messe Basel. Designed in 1954 by Swiss architect Hans Hofmann, the building is considered an icon of Swiss modernism. Its centrepiece is the protected heritage structure with its open circular courtyard – the Rundhof – and the iconic clock that has become a landmark of Messe Basel. Together, they create a distinctive architectural setting that continues to provide a unique backdrop for international gatherings.
With Basilia, Basel gains another international platform that further strengthens the city’s role as a meeting place for global industries, business networks and international exchange.
