In June 2025, Messe and Congress Center Basel had the honour of hosting WordCamp Europe, the flagship event for the global WordPress community. As one of the largest gatherings of WordPress enthusiasts, developers, and contributors, WordCamp Europe is held in a different city each year. For the first time, the event took place in Switzerland, and we were proud to welcome it to our venue in Basel.
WordCamp Europe was an incredible gathering of the WordPress community, filled with engaging sessions, meaningful networking, and a vibrant atmosphere. The event was hosted at Messe Basel, which proved to be a welcoming and well-organised venue that added to the overall positive experience. Attendees praised the location for its accessibility, spaciousness, and modern facilities, making it one of the highest-rated venues in recent years.
He also emphasised the importance of hospitality in shaping the event’s atmosphere:
“Hospitality played a key role in making participants feel at home — from diverse catering options to the helpfulness of our on-site team. The food was good for our diverse attendees.”
Steve further highlighted the collaborative and supportive spirit of the team at Messe Basel: “The friendly and supportive nature of the team — nothing was too much to ask and they were always happy to support us with requests.”
Finally, Basel’s excellent international and European connectivity made it an ideal host city. “Basel was the perfect place for WordCamp Europe 2025, with strong connections across Europe and worldwide.”
