The European CDISC conferences are held in a different country each year. They are aimed at data managers working in clinical research. Since Basel is one of the centres of the pharmaceutical industry in Europe, it went without saying that this conference would also be staged in Basel. The Congress Center Basel was selected as the location because it is the only venue able to accommodate such a demanding combination of conference, exhibition and workshops without having to have recourse to a number of different premises.
Our general success is due to the close cooperation we enjoyed right from the start with those in charge at the Congress Center.

“Through Basel’s role as a centre of the pharmaceutical industry, CDISC set out to attract as many visitors and exhibitors as possible for the event. In this it was successful since, with considerably more than 300 participants, the CDISC Europe Interchange 2015 was the biggest conference that CDISC had ever held in Europe. The exhibitors were also delighted by the event and by the conference logistics. This overall success is due to the close cooperation we enjoyed right from the start with those in charge at the Congress Center.
As in previous years, we once again attached great importance to fresh and varied catering – with fruit, salads and juices, etc. – and agreed on this beforehand with Käfer Catering. The catering at the conference was excellent, and the participants were satisfied on all counts. I, as the organiser, very much appreciated the fact that we were also able to discuss slight modifications at short notice, which were then implemented the next day already.
No exaggeration: the team at the Congress Center Basel was the best team that we have worked with over the past ten years when organising our conferences in Europe.
As an organiser, there are three factors which are particularly important for me at a conference and when working together with a location: the rapidity, the friendliness and the flexibility of the staff. And I was particularly delighted with precisely these aspects in Basel. Not only did we always have a contact close to hand during the event, we were also provided with immediate assistance in the case of special wishes – flowers, greeting cards, gifts, copies and printouts, etc. And the assistance always came from an extremely friendly team, whether it was organisational or technical issues that were at stake. We thus always had the feeling that, whatever potential challenges might arise, we would be certain to find a solution together. And this was indeed the case – something for which I would like to express my sincere thanks!”
